Client Meeting

Did not finish this Post!

1. Your design and layout of your web pages -does it fit your drawing/plan?

2. Your topic and research. What have you done in class?

3.Color,font and the use of multimedia

4. Does it have five pages ?

5. The features of Apple IWeb. What is working. What is not working in the web application.

6. Embedding, what is a widget
7. Do you have an emergancy plan? Do you have a reference page?

8. You must take screenshots of your....iWeb, Delicious bookmarks and Google Docs

1.My design and layout is similar to my drawn plan but the videos on the home would not come so I left it out. For the video page, what they did was not an option on IWeb so I just put the urls for it.

2. I have gathered information about Tsunamis for about three days in class and put it on my IWeb and saved bookmarks on Delicious.

3. The background colors are mostly related to blue (for water). I used some pictures. The fonts are almost all the same except the titles and a few different pages.

4. I have made five pages but I didn't put a logo on them, I also didn't put the bibliography but I will put them on later.

5. Most things were working but the one that didn't work was embedding the video.

6. A widget is a gadget on the computer.

7. I do have an emergency plan but I still am working on a reference page.

8. I did not use google docs. but I will show you pictures of my IWeb  and Delicious.

  1. Look at and Review over websites listed below. Answer questions in your blog what did you like about the website? Compare and contrast with another website. Features, buttons, colors, layout, multimedia
  2. News articles - Natural Disasters....find two articles save them in your delicious account. Briefly write about the natural disaster in your blogger.
  3. Find examples of 'good' and 'bad' website design. Write a blog post and hyperlink to one 'good' web page and one 'bad' web page. Describe and explain why you have chosen these. Discuss how you could use some of the features you found on these websites in your Disaster website. Remember you must consider the following parameters: Navigation, Colour scheme, Alignment of objects and text, Spelling and Grammar...what else is important
  4. Here are some examples to get started:
    Red Blood Club
    HRODC
    Fast Cars UK
    Henkel Wiki Development

1. Some of the sites have white background but a variety of them have colorful ones. Most of them look nice and interesting but two or three of them have to much information making it look boring. There are different types of buttons and they all look nice. The multimedia also seems to look nice and is of good quality.

3. The good one has many pictures and color and good amount of colors and buttons but the other one has just information and a few/none pictures. The spellings are all right and they both have many buttons.

  1. Why is communication so important during an emergency?
  2. What forms of communication have been used during recent disasters e.g Hurricane Katrina, the Asian Tsunami?
  3. What essential information needs to be communicated during a disaster or emergency?
  4. What information can be created before the emergency?
  5. What hardware and software is required to be able to communicate online? Please list

Important communication during a emergency/natural disaster could be a cameras or a phone because you can contact some one with a phone and the video tape can record what happened and if it survives people can see what happened to the place. The recent communications of natural disasters are cameras. The information during a natural disaster should be what natural disaster has/had occurred and why it did. Why it happened and how many people and places have been destroyed. A P.C., monitor, key board, mouse and mic.

Which communication forms are synchronous?

  1. Which communication forms are synchronous?
  2. Which ones are asynchronous?
  3. What type of information would be conveyed by each form?
  4. What is needed in hardware and software for each?

There are many communications on the internet. Such as Skype, Messenger, Chat room and internet(blogging, sending mail, postcard). They are all synchronous but some times they all can get asynchronous if a virus  comes or something goes wrong with the hard drive.. They all could get the same information conveyed but I think the fastest on might be Skype because you can talk directly instead of wasting a little time typing. If you can't speak in the mic then you should type. For the internet to work you need an internet connection. For Skype to work you should download it from its home site. For the Messenger to work make an account on that messenger.
